Archana Shastri is the Director of MilapSpace and Marketing & Communications at Milap, one of the UK’s leading Indian arts organisations. A trained Bharatanatyam dancer born and raised in North America, she brings a distinctly global perspective to how Indian arts are presented and understood today. With over two decades of experience across marketing, programming, and leadership, she has been central to shaping Milap’s strategy, growing audiences, and building meaningful cultural collaborations.
Her work is rooted in a passion for connecting people more deeply to Indian culture—not only as heritage, but as a living, evolving space for creativity, curiosity, and community. As the driving force behind MilapSpace, Archana envisions a dynamic, inclusive platform that responds to the evolving needs of learners and artists across geographies, including close collaborations with practitioners and educators in India. Her vision is shaped by years of direct interaction with students, artists, and teachers, especially through Milap’s Summer Schools, where she saw the need for deeper, more continuous learning beyond short-term workshops. Through MilapSpace, she seeks to nurture the next generation of seekers, practitioners, and cultural leaders by creating space for rigour, reflection, and artistic growth in a digital-first world.
