Shankar Santhanagopalan is a Carnatic vocalist, percussionist, and arts entrepreneur with over two decades of experience. Trained under his father, Shri Neyveli R. Santhanagopalan, he is also a mridangam and kanjira artiste, konnakkol exponent, and a master of Avadhanams. A recipient of the National Balshree Award, he is Co-Founder & CEO of Sishyakulam and TheGreenRoom, pioneering institutions that sustain Indian arts through performance, pedagogy, and management. Though semi-retired from performance, Shankar continues to shape platforms that empower artists and redefine the global reach of Indian classical traditions.
